Dr. Shaolin Zhang
(General Dentist, BSc)
Dr. Shaolin Zhang grew up in China and graduated from Wuhan University with his BSc degree in 2005. Dr. Zhang immigrated to Canada with his whole family in the summer of 2012. After successfully passing Canadian Equivalency Exams, he started working with Infinity Dental City Centre in 2016. Dr. Zhang has over 7 years of experience in China and 5 years of practice in Edmonton working with patients of all ages and needs. He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. In his spare time, Dr. Zhang enjoys spending time with his family, fishing and travelling.

Dental X-Rays
Any recently taken x-rays (within 6-months), may forward to our office in Edmonton. However, emergency treatments often require new radiographs to better help with your diagnosis.

Exams & Cleanings
Helping you keep your smile shining, these routine procedures remove plaque, stain, and tartar (mineralized plaque), and may include a fluoride treatment. This is key to preventing cavities, gingivitis and periodontal disease.

Fillings
When a cavity develops on your tooth we will remove that part of the tooth and replace it with a filling. The filling is typically a composite material, but can also be an amalgam, gold or porcelain.

Dental Crown
When a tooth has been compromised, a crown is placed to restore its shape, size, and strength; crowns can also improve a tooth’s appearance.

Extractions
Dental extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons. Tooth decay that has destroyed enough tooth structure to prevent restoration is the most frequent indication for extraction of teeth.

Bridges
Literally bridging the gap between one or more missing teeth, these consist of either crowns or pontics (false teeth). They are made of a variety of materials including porcelain and gold alloy.

Gum Care
Sometimes we need a refresher on how to correctly floss and brush to prevent tooth loss and gum disease, which can be caused by bacteria found in tartar and plaque. We are more than happy to answer any questions on the best practices in gum care.
